What is the Members Association Council?
Made up of Seattle Sounders FC Members, the Council is a way to get more involved in club affairs and serve as a liaison between Members and ownership.
How do I become a member of Council?
You are voted onto Council by other Members of the Association. Council members need 25 votes (emails) from other Members in order to sit on Council.
How does the voting process work?
Prospective Council members can only be voted on by Members of the Association.
Members wishing to vote a fellow member onto Council will send the person’s name to Sounders FC. 25 votes must be received for the prospective Council member to be ‘elected’ to Council.
Each Member may vote only one person to Council. You will not be allowed to vote for multiple Council members. In addition, you may only send one vote (email) per prospective Council member.
Once voted on Council, is there anything else I need to do before attending meetings?
Yes, Council members will be asked to sign an acknowledgement of duties.
Why will I be asked to sign an acknowledgement of duties?
Council members need to be committed to the Council and their duties. We want serious people involved so we can wisely proceed with the Members Association.
