RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Sounders FC announced today tickets for the CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage are now on sale. Sounders FC will begin group play against Guatemala's Comunicaciones on August 16 on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff is 7 p.m. PT.

Sounders FC beat Panama's San Francisco FC in the preliminary round, 2-1 on aggregate, to advance to Group D. Seattle joins defending Champions League winner CF Monterrey (Mexico), CD Comunicaciones (Guatemala) and CS Herediano (Costa Rica).

The six-round Group Stage will begin on August 16 and conclude October 18.

Sounders FC will host three Champions League matches at CenturyLink Field, beginning with Comunicaciones on August 16 at 7 p.m., followed by Herediano on September 20 at 7 p.m. and concluding against Monterrey on October 18 at 7 p.m.

Seattle will visit Monterrey on August 23, Herediano on September 14 and Comunicaciones on September 27.

Sounders FC earned a berth in the Champions League preliminary round by virtue of winning the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.Seattle won its 2010-11 Preliminary Round series with El Salvador's Isidro Metapan, 2-1 on aggregate, and later finished fourth in its group, which included Monterrey.

All five eligible MLS teams are in the Group Stage, including FC Dallas, L.A. Galaxy, Colorado Rapids and Toronto FC.

The CONCACAF Champions League is open to the leading teams from federations throughout North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Monterrey won the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League last month, defeating Real Salt Lake, 3-2 on aggregate.
