2012: One of the most impactful rookies in MLS, making 32 appearances with 19 starts across all competitions with four goals and five assists. Logged 1,156 minutes in regular-season play, ranking 12th among MLS rookies and most among Supplemental Draft picks. Scored first MLS goal vs. LA (8/5) and recorded first assist at DAL (5/9). Made MLS debut in first start vs. PHI (5/5). Scored first club goal in U.S. Open Cup vs. ATL (5/3).
College
2011: Team captain, First-team All-Pac-12 honors, Second-team NSCAA All-Far West selection, Honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic, and a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award semifinalist as a senior at UCLA. Named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2 after scoring the game-winning goal in overtime against Cal and converting a penalty kick against Stanford. Started in all 24 games, cored two goals, and recorded three assists on the season.
2010: Team captain and First-team All-Pac-10 honoree. Honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic. Led team in minutes (2,051) and was one of four players to start and play in all 22 games. Scored one goal and four assists. Lone goal of season was a penalty kick at San Diego State. Assisted on the game-winners in overtime against San Diego and at California.
2009: Started 10 of his 15 appearances. Recorded one assist, the game-tying assist against UCSB in the NCAA third round. Earned honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic honors.
2008: Played in 20 games, starting 17, and scored two goals and three assists. Voted team’s rookie and received All Pac-10 Honorable Mention honors. Was one of only four freshman to make All Pac-10 squads.
High School
Played for the Bristol City Football Club and was captain of the Under-16 and Under-18 teams. Team finished fourth in the FA Youth Premiership and lost in the fifth round of the 2008 FA Youth Cup to Manchester City after beating Everton and Leeds United. In 2007, his team also advanced to the FA Youth Cup fifth round, losing to Arsenal.
Born February 13, 1990 in Melbourne, Australia to parents Graham and Barbara Rose. Older sister Georgia played tennis for Northwestern University. Lived in Chicago for six years when he was younger.
