LAMAR HUNT US OPEN CUP
June 30, 2009
Dating back to 1914, the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup is the oldest cup competition in United States soccer and is among the oldest in the world.  Open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States, the annual US Open Cup is entering it’s 96th tournament in 2009. After winning two play-in matches, the Seattle Sounders FC will enter the US Open Cup in the third round which begins on June 30th.

CONCACAF GOLD CUP
July 4, 2009
The CONCACAF Gold Cup™ is the biennial nations championship for North and Central America and the Caribbean, and is the confederation’s premier event.  The two-time defending champion USA will play their first-round match of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ on Saturday, July 4 at Qwest Field.  USA will face Grenada at 6:00pm in the second match of the Gold Cup double header. The first match will feature Haiti and Honduras at 4:00pm.

SOUNDERS FC VS CHELSEA FC
July 18, 2009
Seattle Sounders FC will host Chelsea FC, winners of five major English titles in the past five seasons, Saturday, July 18, at Qwest Field. Kickoff is set for 12 noon and seating at Qwest Field will be expanded to include the upper bowl for the Chelsea match. Chelsea features a star-studded lineup led by captain and defender John Terry and midfielder Frank Lampard-both members of the English National Team-and other accomplished internationals such as Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack and Deco.

FC Barcelona, one of the world’s most popular and successful clubs will return to the United States this summer to take on the Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday, August 5 at Qwest Field at 7:30pm.  FC Barcelona, whose heralded roster of international superstars currently includes Lionel Messi, Rafa Marquez, Xavi, Carles Puyol, Thierry Henry and Andres Iniesta secured its third UEFA Champions League crown on Wednesday, May 27.

Seattle Sounders FC and the passionate soccer fans in the Pacific Northwest will host Major League Soccer’s premier event, MLS Cup 2009, at Qwest Field on Sunday, November 22 at 5:30pm. “The city of Seattle and Qwest Field will be a tremendous setting for our country’s marquee soccer event of the year,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said. “We hope to see supporters clubs from all around the League join us in the Emerald City in November, regardless of which two teams advance to the final.”
