LAMAR HUNT US OPEN CUP

Dating back to 1914, the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup is the oldest cup competition in United States soccer and is among the oldest in the world.  Open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States, the annual US Open Cup is entering it’s 97th tournament in 2010. The Seattle Sounders FC will enter the US Open Cup in the third round which begins on June 29th.

CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The field for the 2010-2011 CONCACAF Champions League began to fill on September 2 when the Seattle Sounders FC beat D.C. United 2-1 to win the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and claim the first berth in the 24-team field.  Seattle Sounders FC will play in a Preliminary Round home-and-home series in late July/early August with the winner advancing to the Group Stage beginning in mid-August.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES

Seattle Sounders FC will host three International Friendly matches throughout the 2010 season.  Date, time and opponents for these matches are still to be determined.  Friendly match A, B & C are included in the season ticket membership and Qwest Field will be expanded to full seating capacity for each match.
