CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Group Stage - August - October 2010
Sounders FC is among four MLS teams competing in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League. The top two teams in each four-team group advances to the knockout rounds in early 2011.  In group play each team plays one another twice, home and away.  Seattle is part of Group C and will host three matches: August 25th versus Mexico's CF Monterrey, September 29th versus CD Marathon of Honduras and October 19th versus CD Saprissa of Costa Rica.

CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA

Chivas de Guadalajara is Mexico’s most successful club with 11 league championships and was the 2010 Copa Libertadores runner-up.  It is famous for using only Mexican players and features many of the country’s top players, including Jonny Magallón, Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista, Alberto “Venado” Medina and Luis Michel, who all represented Mexico at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.  This match will be Friendly C in the season ticket package.

LAMAR HUNT US OPEN CUP

Dating back to 1914, the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup is the oldest cup competition in United States soccer and is among the oldest in the world. Open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States, the annual US Open Cup is entering it’s 97th tournament in 2010. The Seattle Sounders FC will enter the US Open Cup in the third round which begins on June 29th.

CLUB ATLETICO BOCA JUNIORS

Boca Juniors is Argentina's most popular club, as well as the most successful on the international front, with three world club championships and six Copa Libertadores (South America titles). Boca is the first Argentine club to play in Seattle and the first South American club to visit since 1983. Sounders FC defeated Boca Juniors 3-0 with goals by Roger Levesque, Pat Noonan and Michael Seamon at Qwest Field in front of a crowd of 40,122.

CELTIC FC

Celtic FC made its fourth trip to Seattle and its third to Qwest Field. Winners of a record 34 Scottish cups and 42 league championships, the "Bhoys" from Glasgow boast a huge worldwide fan base. They are instantly recognizable for their green-and-white hooped jerseys. Celtic FC got goals from Georgios Samaras on a first-half penalty kick and Patrick McCourt in the second half to win 2-1 for the first time on its four-match North American tour.  The Sounders FC goal was scored by David Estrada just one minute after he entered the match.
