What is a season ticket card?
A season ticket card will replace your season ticket book. It is the size of a credit card and will contain a bar code that will come loaded with all the 2012 regular season Sounders matches and the international friendly. Rather than bring tickets to each home match you simply have to bring and present your card which will serve as your ticket to each match.
How many cards will I receive?
The number of cards you receive will be equivalent to the number of tickets on your account. If you have four seats you will receive four cards.
Will I be permitted to split my account into season ticket cards and season ticket booklets? For example, I have four tickets on my account – will I be allowed to have two cards and two season ticket booklets?
No – if you choose to accept the season ticket card you will need to get cards for all season tickets on your account.
Will I still receive scarves and membership cards in my season ticket package?
You will still receive the number of scarves equivalent to the tickets on your account but your card(s) will replace the membership card.
Why would I want a card instead of a ticket book like I've received the past three seasons?
A season ticket card is more convenient than a season ticket book – simply carry your card on your person rather than keep up with paper tickets. The card also represents a rapidly approaching shift in technology at sporting events – use your card to interact with us in the stadium through concession stands and the Pro Shop. Based on how you use the card we'll push special offers to you and your card throughout the season. The card also serves as a greener alternative to paper ticket books.
Will I need my card at every regular season match?
Yes, bring your card to every home match as it will act as your ticket into the match.
What do I do with my card when I get to the stadium?
Simply present to the attendant at the gate – they will scan the bar code on the card and you will enter the stadium.
What if I forget to bring my card to a match?
Simply go to the stadium box office – they will reprint your match tickets on paper stock to enter the match. The paper ticket will not be able to provide the discount on merchandise – only your card can provide that offer.
What if I don't attend a match, do I have to give my card to someone else who is attending?
No, you keep your card and simply forward your ticket using the Account Manager. The person who receives your tickets will simply need to print the paper ticket and bring to stadium. Once forwarded, that match will be removed from your card.
Can I still use the Ticket Exchange feature if I am unable to attend a match?
Yes, you can post tickets for sale on Ticket Exchange. Those matches simply get removed from your card once they have sold.
What do I do if I lose my card?
Call Sounders customer service at 888 MLS-GOAL and mention to a customer service rep that you lost your card. We will print new card(s) and mail to you immediately. Note that once a new card is issued the old card will become voided. Just like replacement tickets, an incremental fee will be charged for all replacement cards.
You mentioned discounts and offers to season ticket holders who use the card – how will that work?
You must have your card with you when you visit a concession stand or the Pro Shop at CenturyLink Field. Prior to ordering / purchasing, simply swipe your card at the Point of Sale computers at the stand. Your account number will identify you as a season ticket card holder – you'll receive a 15% discount on any merchandise purchased and based on your spending trends at concession stands we will be able to push offers to your card. You will then be able to use these special offers at future games.
If I have four cards on my account will each one be able to receive the merchandise discount?
Yes, by swiping your card when checking out at the Pro Shop you will receive the discount.
Are the Sounders forcing all season ticket holders to use the card technology?
No, you have a choice. You can accept the card(s) or continue to receive season ticket books.
Why are the Sounders moving away from traditional season tickets?
We want to provide our fans with technology that makes the stadium experience more enjoyable and efficient, and want to use season ticket cards as the genesis for a program that rewards our most loyal fans. In addition we want to be environmentally conscious and cards produce less waste than printing ticket books.
Will the Sounders eventually move to everyone using a card?
Perhaps - but want to proceed slowly and make sure the program provides an amazing experience for all season ticket holders.
What about the international friendly, Champions League and Open Cup matches? Will they be loaded onto my card?
The season ticket card will come loaded with 17 regular season home matches and the international friendly. At present time, Champions League matches will not be able to be loaded onto the card. Any Open Cup match (other than the Final) will not be loaded onto the card because those matches will take place at the Starfire Sports Complex.
