Fans invited to donate to Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief

The Seattle Sounders FC will partner with the American Red Cross to collect donations for the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami this Tuesday, March 15 at Qwest Field.

RENTON, Wash. – The Seattle Sounders FC will partner with the American Red Cross to collect financial donations for the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami this Tuesday, March 15 at Qwest Field prior to the first kick of the Sounders FC versus LA Galaxy.

There will be volunteers from the Seattle-area American Red Cross collecting donations at various gates along Occidental Avenue and throughout the stadium.  Fans can also donate online at www.redcross.org or text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

A gift to the American Red Cross will support disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific.  On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.
