Pre-Academy prevails 3-1 over older GRFC

Two early goals help Sounders to a 3-1 victory over Greater Renton FC U-18 Dunn last Thursday night at Starfire Sports Complex.

TUKWILA, WA - Sounders FC Pre-Academy got two early goals en route to a 3-1 victory over Greater Renton FC U-18 Dunn last Thursday night at Starfire Sports Complex.

Sounders FC got on the board in the 13th minute when Sean Bowman fed David Olsen for a score, and eight minutes later a Jacob Kempf penalty kick made it 2-0. GRFC kept it close before halftime with a long-range strike in the 30th minute, but that was the only goal they would get against the much younger Sounders FC squad. Garren Economy made it 3-1 with a goal in the 70th minute.

At the half, Sounders keeper Evan Munn was replaced by Jack Hornsby, who shut GRFC out the second half. Both keepers had multiple saves.
