David Beckham's time in MLS by the numbers

The Englishman's influence in Major League Soccer has been quite profound. Here's some numbers that show why.

Average attendance for Beckham’s five matches at CenturyLink Field since 2009 (including MLS Cup 2009): 44,692.

Sounders FC’s regular season record against Beckham and the Galaxy: 2-2-1.  Beckham had no goals or assists in those five matches.

Seattle’s overall record against Beckham and the Galaxy: 3-5-1.  Beckham had no goals and two assists in those matches.

In 84 regular season and playoff matches since 2009, Beckham had 13 goals and 36 assists.

In Beckham’s first year in the league in 2007, there were 13 teams in the league, with eight Designated Players and an average attendance across the league of 16,770.

As he leaves the league this year, there are 19 teams in the league, with 30 Designated Players and an average league-wide attendance of 18,807 – up 12.1 percent.
