The Seattle Sounders FC and our community partners are dedicated to making a positive impact on the Pacific Northwest community.  Through soccer programs and the participation of our players, we are committed to the healthy development of youth in our region and around the world.

America SCORES Seattle offers a comprehensive five-day-per-week after-school program combining soccer and creative writing with service learning for third, fourth and fifth graders in high-needs public elementary schools in Seattle’s Central District, Rainier Beach, and White Center neighborhoods. Teamwork learned on the soccer field translates to the classroom, where writing workshops in poetry and service-learning empower youth to find their voice and be leaders in their community.  Through fundraising and player appearances, Seattle Sounders FC works with America SCORES Seattle to inspire students to become lifelong learners and to realize their unique potential.

For over 65 years the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and Bellevue have served local communities. Over 30,000 youth participate in programs developed to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need the club most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Seattle Sounders FC, Xbox and the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and Bellevue have partnered to provide mentoring opportunities and match day experiences for Boys & Girls Club members.

Special Olympics Washington provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. By participating in sports, physical fitness, health education and leadership training programs, our athletes experience increased self-confidence and social skills, and improved physical and motor skills. Ultimately it is our hope that participation leads to more productive and independent lives. Our vision is to bring all persons with intellectual disabilities into the larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected and given the chance to become productive citizens. In 2011, more than 8,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities will participate in Special Olympics Washington programs; athletes do not pay to participate.

WGHA catalyzes innovative partnerships between traditional and unexpected organizations and people to improve health globally and locally. WGHA advocates for the global health sector and activates governments, organizations, and indi­viduals in support of shared efforts that contribute to global health equity.

In 2013, the Sounders traveled to Tanzania with WGHA to observe global health projects with a tie to Seattle-based organizations. The contingent included Sounders defender Marc Burch and legend, Kasey Keller. They observed health projects focused on combating tuberculosis in HIV positive children, vaccinating dogs for rabies and how malaria impacts schoolchildren.

Washington Youth Soccer is a non-profit and educational organization whose mission is to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of the state of Wash­ington’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels and ages of competition.

More than 128,000 youth ranging in age from five to 19 participate in WA Youth Soccer programs representing over 12,000 teams and 250 soccer clubs. WA Youth Soccer is the eighth largest U.S. Youth Soccer association in America. SFC supports WA Youth Soccer through soccer camps and fundraising opportunities.
