Career Summary

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Bevin was an impact player all four years at West Virginia University, finishing seventh all-time in school history with 31 goals and third with 19 assists. As a senior, Bevin started all 19 games en route to being named MAC Player of the Year and selected to the All-MAC First Team, leading the team with 13 goals and eight assists. His 34 points led the conference, while his mark for goals and assists both ranked second. For his athletic and academic achievements, Bevin was named Capital One First Team Academic All-American. In his junior campaign, Bevin was named to the All-MAC First Team and the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team. He started all 19 games, and led the MAC with nine goals and 24 points, finishing fourth in the conference with six assists. Bevin was named to the All-MAC Second Team as a sophomore after making 13 starts in 17 appearances. He scored two goals and added three assists. In 2011, Bevin was named Big East Rookie of the Year and selected to the All-Big East Third Team. He started in all 20 matches, and finished second on the team in with seven goals.

INTERNATIONAL

Representing his native New Zealand, Bevin participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2009 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2011, in which he totaled four matches.

YOUTH EXPERIENCE

A four-year starter for Napier Boys’ High School, Bevin was a two-time New Zealand Golden Boot recipient. He played for Hawkes Bay United in the New Zealand Football Championship League from 2008-2011. Bevin also played for the Napier City Rovers.

PERSONAL

Bevin is the youngest of four children to Sean and Theresa Bevin. He majored in Management Information Systems at West Virginia, where he made the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll, Dean’s List and President’s List.

Bevin was drafted by Seattle as the 80th overall selection in the MLS SuperDraft on January 20, 2015.
