PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2015 (Seattle): After joining Sounders on August 4 as a Discovery Signing, Ivanschitz made nine overall appearances, including six league contests (five starts) and a start in all three postseason fixtures. In league play Ivanschitz recorded one goal and one assist. Relied upon for his excellent service, Ivanschitz tallied 15 corner kicks in the regular season and led the club with 10 corner kicks in the postseason. He made his MLS debut in 45 minutes of action in a 1-1 draw at San Jose (September 12). In his first MLS start, Ivanschitz scored his first MLS goal in a 3-0 win at Vancouver (September 19). On October 18, Ivanschitz provided his first MLS career assist in a 1-1 draw at Houston. In the 3-2 Knockout Round victory against the LA Galaxy in the MLS Cup Playoffs, Ivanschitz recorded his first postseason assist in his first postseason start. In the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals against Dallas, Ivanschitz scored the equalizer in the 67th minute of the 2-1 Seattle win.

2014-2015 (Levante): Ivanschitz started 16 of 20 appearances in his second season with Levante, as the club finished 14^th in the La Liga table. He scored his lone goal of the season with a stoppage-time equalizer as Levante drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad.

2013-2014 (Levante): Moved to Spanish side Levante for the 2013-2014 campaign, helping the club to a 10^th place finish at 12-14-12. Ivanschitz started 20 of 29 appearances and scored three goals in league play, as well one goal and two appearances in the 2014 Copa del Rey. He came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner in a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano (August 30) and netted a second-minute goal in a 3-2 loss to Atletico Madrid (December 21).

2012-2013 (1. FSV Mainz 05): In his last season with Mainz, Ivanschitz started 29 of 31 appearances in Bundesliga play and set a career-high with seven goals in league action. He also scored one goal in three appearances in the Deutsche Pokal as Mainz was eliminated in the quarterfinals by SC Freiburg. He scored the lone goal via a penalty kick in a 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen (March 9) and the game-winner in a 2-1 win over Nurenberg. Mainz finished 13^th in the Bundesliga table with a record of 10-12-12.

2011-2012 (1. FSV Mainz 05): Ivanschitz scored six goals in 26 appearances as Mainz went 9-13-12 and finished 13^th in the table. He scored the opening goal as Mainz defeated Bayern Munich 3-2 (November 11) a game after scoring the winner in a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart (November 4). In his lone 2011-2012 Deutsche Pokal appearance, he came off the bench to score an extra-time winner as Mainz defeated Hannover 1-0 in round two of the competition. He also started in both legs of the 2011-2012 UEFA Europa League playoff round in which Mainz fell via penalty kicks in the second leg to Romanian side Gaz Metan Medias.

2010-2011 (1. FSV Mainz 05): Ivanschitz started 13 of 20 appearances, scoring three goals as Mainz qualified for the 2011-2012 UEFA Europa League with a fifth-place Bundesliga finish (18-12-4). He scored game-winning goals in wins over Bayer Leverkusen (October 24) and Eintracht Frankfurt (April 30). He started and played a full 90 minutes in two Deutsche Pokal matches.

2009-2010 (1. FSV Mainz 05): In his first season in the Bundesliga with Mainz, he scored a then-career-high six league goals in 27 appearances as the club went 12-11-11 and finished in ninth place. Ivanschitz scored all six of his goals in the first two months of the season, including the opening score in a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich (August 22) in his third career match with Mainz.

2008-2009 (Panathinaikos): Ivanschitz started 11 of 17 appearances in his final season with Panathinaikos, scoring three goals and leading the club to a third-place finish in the Greek Super League (17-3-10, 61 points). He also appeared in six UEFA Champions League matches for Panathinaikos as the club won Group B with a 3-2-1 record before falling to Villareal in the first stage of the Round of 16. He scored the lone UEFA Champions League goal of his career in a 3-0 win over Georgian side FC Dinamo Tbilisi in the Second Qualifying Round.

2007-2008 (Panathinaikos): He scored three goals in 24 appearances in the Greek Super League. With 66 points (20-4-6), Panathinaikos finished third overall in the league table.

2006-2007 (Panathinaikos): After making just one appearance for Red Bull Salzburg, Ivanschitz moved to Greek side Panathinaikos on a two-year loan. In his first season in the Greek Super League, Ivanschitz appeared 26 times and scored four goals as Panathinaikos finished third in the league table with a 16-8-6 record.

2005-2006 (Rapid Vienna / Red Bull Salzburg): After making 18 appearances and scoring five goals for Rapid Vienna, Ivanschitz transferred to Red Bull Salzburg in January of 2006, where he made 12 appearances and scored one goal. Salzburg finished second in the league table for the 2005-2006 season with 63 points (20-13-3).

2004-2005 (Rapid Vienna): Ivanschitz led Rapid Vienna to the 2004-2005 Austrian Bundesliga championship, scoring five goals in 29 appearances. Vienna finished atop the table with 71 points (21-8-7), edging second-place Grazer AK by just one point. Ivanschitz added one more goal in three Austrian Cup appearances, as Rapid Vienna fell to FK Austria Vienna in the final.

2003-2004 (Rapid Vienna): At 20 years old, Ivanschitz became the youngest winner of the Austrian Footballer of the Year Award in December of 2003 after receiving 32 votes in a poll of Bundesliga coaches. In the 2003-2004 season, he was third on the club with eight goals across 27 appearances in all competitions, leading Rapid Vienna to a fourth-place league finish.

2002-2003 (Rapid Vienna): He appeared in all 36 league matches for Rapid during the 2002-2003 campaign, scoring five goals. The club achieved a fourth-place finish in the Austrian Bundesliga with a 13-11-12 record.

2001-2002 (Rapid Vienna): In his first full season earning regular selection, Ivanschitz appeared in 30 matches across all competitions for Rapid Vienna, scoring one goal. Rapid finished fourth in the Bundesliga table with 53 points (14-11-11). He also made five appearances in the 2001-2002 UEFA Cup, as Rapid Vienna fell 6-2 on aggregate to Paris Saint-Germain in the Second Round.

2000-2001 (Rapid Vienna): Helping Rapid Vienna to a second-place finish in Austrian Bundesliga (16-8-12, 60 points), Ivanschitz made 14 league appearances and scored two goals. He also made two appearances apiece in the Austrian Cup and UEFA Cup.

1999-2000 (Rapid Vienna): At 16 years old, Ivanschitz made his professional debut in an Austrian Cup match against Ranshofen on October 26, 1999. He later made his league debut later that year against Red Bull Salzburg.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ivanschitz has 69 career caps for the Austrian National Team, where he wore the number-10 shirt and scored 12 goals. He made his international debut in a friendly against Greece in February of 2003, and became the youngest player to captain Austria at 19 years old in 2003. He was capped three times in the 2008 UEFA European Championship, which Austria and Switzerland co-hosted. Of his 12 career international goals, four have come in FIFA World Cup Qualifying and two in UEFA European Championship Qualifying.

PERSONAL

As the son of a music teacher, Ivanschitz plays multiple instruments including the piano and oboe. The youngest of three sons, he joined Rapid Vienna at 14 years old. He is a member of the Burgenland Croat community.
