NEW YORK – Kevin Forrest of Washington was selected by Colorado with the third pick in Thursday’s MLS Supplemental Draft.
Forrest, a forward, was the Pac-10 player of the year as a junior. He scored six goals last fall before missing the latter half of the Huskies’ season due to a stress fracture in his left foot. He is a graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School and also played for Crossfire Sounders.
Colorado had selected Ciaran O’Brien of Tacoma with the fifth choice in last week’s SuperDraft.
Portland’s Michael Gavin, a defender and Arizona native, went to the L.A. Galaxy with the fourth pick.
A total of 51 players were selected in the four-round draft. All players who met draft eligibility requirements that were not selected in the Jan. 18 SuperDraft and additional players nominated by teams were eligible for selection in the Supplemental Draft.
