Former Sounders FC forward Mike Fucito was traded from the Montreal Impact to the Portland Timbers on Friday after a tumultuous two months in Quebec.
Saturday morning, Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid was asked his reaction to the trade.
"I feel sorry for Mike," Schmid laughed. "He’s probably got to wear an undershirt because I think the green jersey is going to make his skin itch."
Schmid was also asked of Seattle's interest in the forward who had three goals in 23 MLS matches with the Sounders, along with two goals in four Open Cup appearances and five goals in eight Champions League matches.
"We had talked to them about it, but we couldn’t come to an agreement," Schmid said.
Fucito arrived in Portland on Saturday, but did not suit up against Sporting Kansas City.
