RENTON, Wash.- The Seattle Sounders FC will play Mexico's Veracruz in a preseason friendly on Friday, February 22 at 6 p.m. PT (7 p.m. local) at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz.
"This is good preparation for our match against Tigres," said Sounders FC Head Coach Sigi Schmid. "It's important to play another team from Mexico and we are very thankful that Veracruz is able to do so. It's a good opportunity for our team to play against that style of play because it is different than what we face in MLS."
Tickets for the friendly, as well as the four-game Desert Diamond Cup, are available at www.FCTucson.com.
Seattle opens its fifth MLS season on March 2 against the Montreal Impact on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Sounders FC will then play Tigres UANL in a two-leg CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series.
