Sounders FC forward Obafemi Martins has won the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week following an outrageous effort against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday in Commerce City.
Taking a long ball from Andy Rose down with a fantastic first touch and turn to split a pair of Rapids defenders, Martins marched in on goal and finished calmly past Clint Irwin to give the Sounders a 3-1 lead.
Martins, 30, has been nominated for the Goal of the Week nine times since joining the Sounders in 2013, winning seven of those.
