Sounders FC 2 defeated 3-0 at home by Whitecaps FC 2

TUKWILA, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 was defeated 3-0 by Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 for just its second home loss of the season on Saturday night at Starfire Stadium. Although the first half would end scoreless, Marco Bustos would score twice in the second half on the way to the WFC 2 victory. S2 is now 1-2-1 on the season when facing Vancouver.

In the 47^th minute, Caleb Clarke played a short through-ball to Bustos, who chipped his shot over S2 goalkeeper Charlie Lyon for the first goal of the night. Bustos notched his second in the 56^th minute after Lyon saved a low shot from inside the box, with the rebound falling to the feet of Bustos. The midfielder shot high to the left to complete his second-half brace.

Andre Lewis added a third goal in the 77^th minute after dribbling through the S2 backline, finding himself one-on-one with Lyon before scoring his third goal of the season.

Sounders FC 2 next plays at home on August 19 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (1:00 p.m. PT / SoundersFC.com). S2 drew 1-1 against Colorado on the road on July 18 in the only previous meeting between the clubs
