Sounders FC midfielder Gonzalo Pineda is closing in on his first AT&T MLS Goal of the Week award with only a few hours remaining for fans to log on and vote.
Pineda’s left-footed blast during the Sounders’ 3-0 romp over Vancouver Whitecaps FC last weekend had received more than 33 percent of the vote for the Week 29 award as of Thursday afternoon, according to MLSsoccer.com. Pineda’s 71st-minute goal helped the Sounders pull away from the ‘Caps at BC Place and ultimately secured the team’s first Cascadia Cup since 2011.
