SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC on Tuesday unveiled its new mobile ticketing initiative as part of the club’s newly-launched mobile application across iOS, Android and Windows platforms. By consolidating Sounders FC season tickets and MatchPass rewards onto the new mobile app, fans can easily manage their matchday experience from the convenience of their mobile devices. Completely revamped for the 2016 Major League Soccer season, the new app features a fully revised interface with more content, expanded functionality and new integrations. With this launch, Sounders FC becomes the first MLS club to complete the move to a full mobile ticketing experience.
“Our goal with the new app was to create a place that people could go for everything they need when it comes to Sounders FC,” said Sounders FC Chief Operating Officer Bart Wiley. “Whether it’s news, videos or the management of their season tickets, our fans can get now get all of that simply by going to the app. With the help of the Alliance Council as beta testers, we’re confident that we’ve made something that will be a fantastic addition to the Sounders fan experience.”
With mobile ticketing, Sounders FC fans can manage their tickets solely on their phone and centralize the matchday experience. Season Ticket Members have the option to share an entire season of tickets with friends or family, print tickets at home or transfer via Account Manager, all through the new mobile app. With the ability to personalize their pass, fans can share the season with family or friends who consistently attend matches together throughout the season. STMs have the option to house all the passes together on one phone or permanently share one or more of the individual passes for an entire season with specific seat-mates.
Fans can also manage their season ticket packages through Account Manager, giving STMs the option to print tickets at home or transfer them to others. This option presents a more flexible method for groups of seat-mates who vary match-to-match, as tickets can be moved via email to different individuals and re-sold when the ticketholders can’t attend.
With a mobilized MatchPass rewards system debuting in the new app, fans can redeem their rewards via the Sounders FC mobile app anytime while making a bigger difference in the Seattle community. Fans are able to enter to win rewards for free and will soon have the ability to secure their spot for certain perks with a Buy Now option. Fans also have the ability to watch their money go to work, as Buy Now proceeds will be split between the Alliance Council, Rave Foundation and United in Green to help fund Seattle community projects.
In addition to mobile ticketing and rewards, the revamped Sounders FC mobile app gives fans constant contact to their favorite club. Season Ticket Members can access their profile, contact their account rep, get exclusive Sounders FC content and opt-in to push notifications for breaking news, rewards and matchday information.
Sounders FC's eighth season begins on Sunday, March 6 at home against Sporting Kansas City at 4:00 p.m. PT on FOX Sports 1. The club looks to build upon the success of seven consecutive MLS Cup Playoff appearances, four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup titles and the 2014 Supporters' Shield. For the eighth consecutive season, Sounders FC is set to play all regular season home matches on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field, a venue that set a new MLS average attendance record in 2015 with 44,247 fans per game supporting the Rave Green.
