SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC today announced that 2017 Season Ticket Memberships are now on sale for the club’s ninth Major League Soccer campaign. Season-long packages can be purchased via SoundersFC.com/SeasonTickets or by calling 877-MLS-GOAL. With Sounders FC able to clinch a spot in the 2016 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with a win tonight against Houston at CenturyLink Field (7:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM), fans are reminded that the best way to secure preferred postseason seats for the 2016 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs is by purchasing a 2017 Season Ticket Membership.

“The thriving soccer culture that is so special here in Seattle only continues to develop, and we’re excited for more fans to become part of the most robust and passionate fan-base in North America,” said Sounders FC Chief Operating Officer Bart Wiley. “While the lower bowl at CenturyLink Field continues to be extremely coveted, now is the time to explore the best possible openings as we approach the most critical time of our season. Not only do 2017 Season Ticket Memberships assure the best available postseason seats for this year, but they also secure the top lower bowl inventory for all Sounders matches moving forward.”

For the eighth-consecutive season, Sounders FC is set to lead MLS in attendance, with the club’s active sellout streak standing at 141 matches heading into tonight’s contest versus Houston (the longest such streak in MLS history). The Rave Green already hold eight of the top nine single-season attendance records, including the current league-record average of 44,247 set in 2015. Seattle’s current 2016 attendance average of 41,668 currently ranks 31st worldwide among all professional soccer clubs, with two home dates to go. With a full-stadium regular season finale on October 23 versus Real Salt Lake, Seattle is on the cusp of another top-30 global attendance mark.

Currently amidst a four-match winning streak, Sounders FC (13-13-5, 44 points) embarks on a two-game week, first hosting the Houston Dynamo (7-13-11, 32 points) tonight on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field tonight before traveling to face first-place FC Dallas (16-8-8, 56 points) on Sunday at Toyota Stadium (2:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, Univision-Seattle, SoundersFC.com, El Rey 1360 AM). Currently fifth in the Western Conference, Interim Head Coach Brian Schmetzer's club needs just three points to clinch a postseason spot with three matches remaining in the 2016 regular season.
