Fans have voted the Uruguayan’s left-footed wonder-strike as the Week 6 AT&T MLS Goal of the Week. In the 84th minute against the San Jose Earthquakes, Lodeiro one-timed the deflection off the wall from Clint Dempsey’s free kick and picked out the bottom corner to help the Sounders earn a valuable road point.
Lodeiro finished with 47 percent of the voting, with the Portland Timbers’ Darlington Nagbe finishing in second with 33 percent. The Sounders will take on the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday in British Columbia (7 p.m. PT; Q13 FOX, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM).
