Sounders FC kicked off 2015 with a 5-0 victory over UCLA in its first preseason friendly. Forwards Obafemi Martins, Lamar Neagle, Chad Barrett and Kenny Cooper scored for the squad, plus a 90th minute goal by Micheal Azira. The match also marked the club debuts of Tyrone Mears, Troy Perkins and Darwin Jones.
Sounders FC wrapped up its first preseason trip with a 2-1 loss against the LA Galaxy in a preseason friendly in Carson, California. Marco Pappa scored the lone goal for the Sounders in the 27th minute on a cross.

Seattle Sounders FC opened the 2015 Desert Diamond Cup with a 6-0 victory over host team FC Tucson. Clint Dempsey, Lamar Neagle and Kevin Parsemain each scored two goals in the match. Parsemain came into the match in the 69th minute, marking his return to action following an ACL tear last season.
In a friendly that was separate from the Desert Diamond Cup, Sounders FC tied 1-1 with Minnesota United FC of the NASL. Kenny Cooper scored Seattle's lone goal, while U.S. National Team midfielder Miguel Ibarra had the equalizer for Minnesota.

Seattle Sounders FC fell 3-2 to Sporting Kansas City in its second match of the 2015 Desert Diamond Cup. The team came back in the second half with two goals, scored by Kenny Cooper and Victor Mansaray. The team moves into the final week of the tournament with a record of 1-1-0.
Sounders FC fell 2-1 to the New England Revolution Thursday night in its third match of the 2015 Desert Diamond Cup at Kino Sports Complex. Seattle struck early with a fourth minute goal by Kenny Cooper, but surrendered two second-half goals, including a stoppage-time penalty by the Revs’ Charlie Davies.
Seattle Sounders FC closed its 2015 Desert Diamond Cup play with a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City. The Rave Green equalized in the second half on a goal by Obafemi Martins in the 60th minute. The team returned to Seattle following the match ahead of the 2015 MLS regular season opener against the New England Revolution.

In the team's first away match of 2015, Seattle Sounders FC battled to a 0-0 draw with FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The Sounders broke Dallas' three-game winning streak with the result.

Sounders FC notched its second consecutive victory by virtue of a 1-0 win over rival Portland Timbers. Stefan Frei recorded his fourth shutout of the season, while Clint Dempsey scored his sixth career goal against Portland, which is the most of any player in team history.

Sounders FC earned a 3-1 win on the road over New York City FC, the club's third straight victory. Star forwards Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey once again provided the goals, as Martins opened the scoring 23 minutes into the match before assisting Dempsey and adding another tally of his own in the second half.
