2012: Broke out in 2012 as reliable scoring option, netting five goals (third on team) in MLS play and seven across all competi- tions. Recorded third hat trick in franchise history in season opener vs. TOR (3/17), his first career goals, and was named MLS Player of the Week. In the following match, scored the game-winner in a 2-0 win vs. HOU (3/23). Scored lone goal in 1-1 draw at CHV (5/26). Only player on team to start first 10 games, and appeared in first 17 games across all competitions. Placed on Disabled List on 6/15 with left foot fracture and returned vs. SJ (9/22). Scored first competitive goal of the season for Sounders FC when he headed in a 12th minute goal in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals (3/7). After returning from injury, Estrada scored in a 3-1 win vs. Marathon (10/24). Named 2012 Sounders FC Humanitarian of the Year.
2011: Made one start in three appearances, logging 108 minutes. Went full 90 minutes in 2-1 win at NE (10/1). Played final 11 minutes in 2-1 Cascadia Cup-clinching win at VAN (9/24). Started all 10 MLS Reserve League games.
2010: Appeared in three games with one start in regular season play, logging 88 minutes. Made first MLS start at DAL (4/22). Played 7 minutes in MLS debut vs. NY (4/3). Made 8 appearances with 3 starts in all competitions and scored just one minute after entering friendly vs. Celtic FC (7/18).
2009: Earned Third-Team NSCAA All-Far West honors and First-Team All-Pac-10 acclaim. Finished career as a four-time All-Pac-10 honoree, with 22 goals and 14 assists. As a senior tied for the team lead in assists with seven and ranked second in total points with 13. Scored three goals on the season, two of which were game-win- ners (vs. Cal and vs. Washington) and the third being an equalizer. One of just four players to start and play in all 20 games.
2008: Earned All-Pac-10 honors for the third time in his career, earning hon- orable mention. Played in all 21 games and had 19 starts. Ranked third on the team in goals scored with four and also added three assists to rank fourth on the team in scoring with 11 points.
2007: Earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 despite missing the first month of the season following sur- gery for a fractured metatarsal (8/20). Made first appearance at Cal State Northridge (9/29). Pre- season All-American by MLS Magazine. Called up for a U.S. Under-18 National Team camp in January of 2007.
2006: Went from unheralded walk-on to Soccer America's National Freshman of the Year. Led UCLA in scoring with a UCLA freshman record 12 goals, four game-winning goals and 28 points. Second in the Pac-10 in points and goals scored. His 28 points were the most by a Bruin freshman since Joe-Max Moore scored 32 in 1990. Scored 11 of his 12 goals after being inserted into the starting lineup for the last 13 games of the year. Recorded two goals to lead UCLA to a 3-0 victory over Clemson in the NCAA third round. Scored the game's first two goals in a 4-0 NCAA semifinal rout over Virginia. Had game- winning goals at Oregon State and against San Diego, Clemson and Virginia. Named to the College Cup All-Tournament team. Second-team All-Pac-10 selection. Voted UCLA's Offensive MVP.
High School/Club
A prolific goal scorer out of Alisal HS under coach Jesus Sanchez. Scored a school-record and national-best 66 goals in his senior season, including 11 in one game, the sec- ond-most single-game goals in state history. Also led team as a junior with 36 goals and ranked sec- ond with 12 goals as a sophomore. Two-time all- league, all-county and All-CCS. Two-time league and team MVP. Twice named Player of the Year by the Salinas Californian and the San Jose Mercury News. Two-time Offensive Player of the Year for the Monterey County Herald. Led Alisal HS to its first-ever CCS finals his junior season and to a 24-1-1 record and No. 2 national ranking his senior year. Also played two years of football as a running back. Played club soccer with Atlas. Participated in the ODP camp in Florida, as well as the ODP Nationals.
Personal
Son of David and Irene Estrada. Younger brother, Max, played soccer at Hartnell College in Salinas, Calif. Given the nickname "Samurai" as a baby by his uncle.
