MLS Experience
2012: Strong addition to Seattle’s backline in 2012, appearing in a career- high 29 MLS games, ranking fourth on the team, and tied a career high with three assists. Recorded the game-winning assist in his club debut vs. TOR (3/17) when he fed David Estrada for his second of three goals. Picked up an assist when he fed Eddie Johnson for a header in a 2-2 draw at NE (6/30), and another in a 4-0 win vs. LA (8/5). Finished tied for third on the team with 40 appearances across all-competitions.
2011: Made 17 appearances and 11 starts for DC United after returning from a foot injury, logging 1,117 minutes. Scored third career goal in loss at HOU (4/29). Recorded lone assist of season and tenth of career in 3-1 win vs. CLB (3/19).
2010: PStarted and played full 90 minutes in four starts before suffering right foot injury. Came back and played in the US Open Cup Semifinal vs. CLB (9/1), but re-aggravated his foot injury and missed the remainder of the season.
2009: Made 26 appearances, setting career-highs in starts (25) and minutes (2,174), shots (20), and fouls caused (27), despite missing a month with an ankle injury. Scored unassisted goal and set single-game career highs with five shots and four shots on goal in 2-2 draw at DAL (9/5). Recorded assist in loss at HOU (8/1). Game-winning assist in stoppage time in 3-2 win at NY (4/26). Made 32 appearances and 30 starts across all competitions.
2008: Made career-high 28 appearances, started 21 games, and logged 1,817 minutes in second full season with DC. Tied his career-high with three assists. Recorded game-winning assist in 4-1 win vs. LA (6/29). 44 appearances and 35 starts across all competitions. Scored two free-kick goals in 2-0 US Open Cup third round game vs. Rochester Rhinos (7/1).
2007: After beginning the season with Columbus, Burch was traded to DC for a 2008 Supplemental Third-Round Draft pick. With DC, became starter at left back, making 18 appearances and 15 starts. Compiled a career-high five points (one goal, three assists). Recorded assist in consecutive wins at NE (8/5) and vs. LA (8/9). Scored first career goal in 4-1 win vs. TOR (9/29). Started both MLS Cup Playoff matches against CHI.
2006: Selected in the Second Round (24th Overall) in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by the Los Angeles Galaxy, Burch made three appearances as a substitute for LA before being traded to the Columbus Crew in July. With the Crew, Burch made seven appearances (five starts) and tallied one assist in a 3-2 loss to DC (7/15).
College 2005: Made 21 appearances after transferring to University of Maryland, contributing four goals and six assists. Burch scored the game-winning goal, a 25-yard free kick, in the College Cup Final against New Mexico to win the NCAA National Championship.
2002-2004: Played for the University of Evansville, scoring seven goals and 22 assists. All-Missouri Valley Conference pick all three of the seasons he spent with the Purple Aces.
