 What is your refund policy?

Cancellation before camp begins:

  • The Camp Fee will be refunded, less a $50 non-refundable administrative fee per participant prior to 21 days before camp is scheduled to begin. There is a $100 cancellation fee 14 days before camp starts, and no refunds will be given if the cancellation is received 7 days before the camps is scheduled to start or
  • The participant may be placed in another camp of their choice with a $10 change fee.

Cancellation after camp begins:

  • If cancellation is received after the Friday before camp begins, no portion of the camp fee will be refunded for any reason other than an injury or sickness (with a doctor’s note). In such case, the camp fee, minus the $50 administrative fee, will be refunded on a prorated basis as determined by the number of sessions missed.
 What do I do if I bought a ticket during registration?

Two weeks before the match, you will receive an email explaining how to access your tickets via Sounders FC Account Manager. Once you receive the email, please follow the designated link and log in with the same email you used for your camp registration. After you log in, you will be able to download your ticket(s) onto your mobile device or print them at home.  What do I bring to camp?

Half-Day: Water, light snack 10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. daily, appropriate footwear and clothing

Full Day: Water, light snack 10:30 a.m. -10:45 a.m. daily, Bring a lunch which will be at 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m. daily, appropriate footwear and clothing. 
* We recommend your player brings 8 oz of water per hour at camp.

 Does Sounders FC provide lunch for full day campers?

No.  We require that all full day campers bring their own lunch.  Lunchtime will be from 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m.  We also ask that campers do not share lunches do to various food allergies that campers may have, so please remember to pack a lunch.

 What do campers receive?

A Sounders FC soccer ball and camp t-shirt, giveaway items, trivia prizes, signed merchandise awarded to the camper of the week, opportunity to meet Sounders FC players, and automatic membership to the Forever Green Kids Club.

 Why can't I register online for next week's camp?

Our online registration tool stops accepting registrations Thursday at 12:00 a.m., before the week of camp. This allows us enough time to print and distribute all registration lists to our camp site directors. Signing up prior to camp begins is preferred so we know how many kids to expect and the appropriate amount of coaches to send to each location.

 Will there be Sounders FC player appearances at camp?

Yes, but it is not guaranteed. Our goal is to have a player appearance at all of our camps, but that is not always realistic with player travel schedules and other commitments.

 What is the Emergence Camp?

This is a camp designed for the beginning level player ages 3 - 5 years old.  This camp will be offered at a modified timeline with a separate check-in and out from the standard camp.  These camps will be run at the same locations as Full Day and Half-Day experiences, but will be in a separate designated area of the field.  This camp will include a range of movement education, soccer related game exercises, and introductory technical work in a fun and imaginative environment.

 What age is old enough to do full day?

We recommend full day sessions to campers 6 - 15 years old.

 What is your camp philosophy?

Our goal is to provide your child with quality training, that is developmentally appropriate, with a focus on technical, tactical, physical, and mental development.  We aim to create positive and energetic environments where the kids are free to express themselves and learning the game of soccer is enjoyable and fun. We seek to develop not only the technical abilities, but also promote a healthy lifestyle in our youth players. Through encouragement, motivation, and guided discovery within a positive and fun environment, your child is sure to receive a valuable camp experience.

 Do you offer any before or post camp supervision?

We do not offer any supervision before or after camp. Players may arrive 15 – 20 minutes early for camp to prepare for the day, but we ask that all campers are picked up promptly at the scheduled end of camp each day. Any child who is picked up late from camp will incur a late fee.  Multiple offenses will result in the removal of camp without a refund.

 Can my child walk or take the bus home after camp?

For safety reasons, we prefer campers be picked up by a parent or guardian after camp. Campers are allowed to walk or bus home if a parent or guardian sends the camper to camp with a pre-written note giving permission to do so. The letter/note would also detail that Sounders FC Camps are not liable in this situation.

 I am unsure where camp is located. Can you provide directions?

We have conveniently placed all of the addresses to each specific camp site on our website. You may use these addresses to obtain directions to each individual camp site.

 How do I register?

Register Online at www.soundersfc.com/camps Select the camp category link you wish to sign up for and you will be redirected to our registration page.

 Do I need to bring my confirmation email?

No. The confirmation email is for your records only.

 Can my child join camp a few days late?

Yes, if you decide to sign up late, we will pro-rate the cost accordingly.

 Are there any scholarships available?

Yes, but very limited. You can submit a scholarship application on our website. Winners will be chosen at the end of May 2019. If you do not win a free scholarship to camp and are still in need, please contact Camps@soundersfc.com.

There is also a donation area during the registration process. We never want to turn a child away, and any donations will help additional children in need attend our camps.

 What happens if I accidentally register for the wrong camp?

 What happens in the case of lightening, thunder or rain?

In the case of lightning and thunder, we will take campers to a safe area. If lightening and thunder persist, we will call contact numbers that are provided during the registration process, so your child can be picked up from camp. In the case of rain, we will continue camp as planned. Please bring appropriate clothing for this scenario i.e. jacket, long sleeve shirts, training pants etc.

 My child has a medical condition, should I tell someone?

Yes. If your child has a severe allergy and must carry any medical supplies or medication, please let the camp site director know on the first day of camp. There is an area in the online registration form where you can indicate any special needs your player may have to make us aware prior to the start of camp. However, we always ask you let the site director and coaches know in person of any medical conditions that must be taken into account.

 What group will my child be placed in?

Campers will be broken into age appropriate groups first. If we feel a camper’s skill level exceeds that of his/her peer group we will ask if they would like to join an older group. Also we tell everyone on the very first day of camp- “If you came with a friend or teammate, close in age, you are more than welcome to stay in the same group as them.” We encourage all friends and teammates to participate in the same groups during camp.

 Do you take walk up registrations?

Yes, as long as the camp is not listed as “Closed/At Capacity” on the website. You may pay in cash, credit card, or a check made out to Sounders FC Camps on the first day of the camp week you would like to attend.

 What is the Air Quality Policy?

Sounder’s FC Youth Camps Air quality policy with regard to youth camps, clinics, or training sessions is as follows:

If a parent is concerned about their child's safety, they should keep them home even if the Camp Leadership has not cancelled or does not plan to cancel training. Parents know their kids best.

The Air Quality Index (“AQI”) between 101-150 is considered “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.” Children, teenagers, and those with sensitivities are considered part of the "sensitive group" and as such, here is what the Air Now Website, says should be done:

Sensitive groups: Reduce prolonged or heavy exertion. It’s OK to be active outside, but take more breaks and do less intense activities. Watch for symptoms such as coughing or shortness of breath.

People with asthma should follow their asthma action plans and keep quick relief medicine handy.

If you have heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care provider.

So long as the Air Quality Index (“AQI”) in the area where camp or training is scheduled remains between an AQI of 101 and 150, the camp, clinics, or training session (in whole or in part) may be cancelled at the discretion of the Manager of Soccer Programs. The factors that should be used to consider whether or not to cancel any portion of a camp, clinic, or training are:

1. The health and safety of the players and themselves;
2. The age of the players (the younger the player, the more at risk they are);
3. Whether or not the AQI is predicted to increase or decrease;
4. How soon the AQI is predicted to increase or decrease;
5. Whether camp, clinic, or training sessions have already been cancelled for the relevant camp, clinic, or training session;
6. Any other relevant mitigating or aggravating factors in their knowledge;

If the AQI is predicted to reach 151 or higher ("unhealthy"), during camp, clinic, or trainings as scheduled, then they will be cancelled. Whether an entire camp, clinic, or training is cancelled will depend on the factors such as length of the camp and forecasts of the AQI.
 

It is the policy to make the discretionary decisions as early as possible and communicating with the camp, clinic, or training participants via email - but final decisions will be made no later 6:00 am the day of the event. The primary consideration in close calls is always the safety of the players. If no message is received, presume the camp will occur.

If a player is particularly sensitive to air quality (e.g. has sports asthma, asthma, or other conditions), they should stay home. Parents should use their best judgment for their children. If you have any questions about whether or not your child should participate, please call your child's doctor for advice. In the event that a player stays home from camp, and the camp is not cancelled- this player is not eligible for a refund.

Refund policy: Refunds will be issued on a pro-rata basis. If camp is cancelled due to poor air quality- refunds will be issues in proportion to how many hours of camp were missed. Refunds will only be issued once the week is completed.
