Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid was the keynote speaker at the Special Olympics Breakfast With Champions event June 12 at the Washington State Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The popular soccer coach shared his insights on the real spirit of competition and the need for those in a position to help others to step forward and do so.
Sigi was joined by SoundersFC players James Riley and Taylor Graham who in their first season in Seattle have already volunteered countless hours of community service.
This is the largest fund raising event of the year for Special Olympics Washington and it was a huge success.
Over 900 business and community leaders contributed more than $339,000 to support Special Olympics in Washington.
