Eddie Johnson, who scored the opening goal in Sunday night's 4-0 victory over the LA Galaxy, has been named MLS Player of the Week.
NEW YORK – Seattle Sounders FC forward Eddie Johnson has been voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 22. Johnson scored the opening goal in a 4-0 victory over the LA Galaxy on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field, marking his fourth game-winning goal this season.Â
It is the first time this season that Johnson has been voted MLS Player of the week. He is tied-fifth in MLS with 10 goals and has scored seven of the team’s last 12 goals, including six goals in his last seven MLS games.
Seattle forward David Estrada won the award in Week 2.Â
