SEATTLE, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC is encouraging fans to arrive early to Sunday’s match against the New York Red Bulls on the XBOX Pitch at CenturyLink Field (2:00 p.m. PT / ESPN2, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM). In addition to increased traffic due to a 1:10 p.m. PT Seattle Mariners home game at Safeco Field and other traffic concerns, Sounders FC is inviting fans to attend special pre-match activities for the lone fixture of the season against the Red Bulls.

Fans should expect increased traffic in the area as a result of a Seattle Mariners home game against the Cleveland Indians. First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. PT at Safeco Field (1250 First Avenue S., Seattle, WA 98134), so higher traffic volumes in the stadium district and parking garage congestion should be expected. Public transportation options are limited, as the Downtown Transit Tunnel is being closed to both light rail and buses. Additionally, Fourth Avenue northbound is being reduced to one lane. Complete information on Sunday’s traffic concerns can be found here.

Sunday’s pre-match festivities include a performance by the University of Washington Pep Band at THE NINETY (406 Occidental Avenue S., Seattle, WA 98104) between 11:50 a.m. PT – 12:20 p.m. PT, before a 12:30 p.m. PT performance at the March to the Match, one of the best traditions in American sports started by the Emerald City Supporters. THE NINETY is also hosting a live Chalk Talk and Q&A session open to all fans with club legend Alan Hinton from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. PT.

Sounders FC is pleased to welcome a guest National Anthem singer for Sunday’s match, as Seattle-based soul-singer Mycle Wastman will perform the Star Spangled Banner pre-match in front of the Sounders FC faithful. Wastman emerged as a stealth front-runner on Season Three of NBC’s The Voice and is currently working on his third full-length album.

Sunday’s match against New York kicks-off at 2:00 p.m. PT and is being televised nationally on ESPN2. Local radio coverage can be found on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM and in Spanish on El Rey 1360 AM, with pre-match coverage on both networks beginning at 1:30 p.m. PT.
