Sounders FC Academy product Jordan Morris scored his third goal in as many games during the group stage of CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying on Tuesday night, helping the United Stats Under-23 national team to a 4-0 win over Panama at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.
Morris came on at the half and scored in the 56th minute as the US blew the game open after a scoreless first 45 minutes. The win secured the US a first-place finish in Group A, and they’ll play in the semifinals on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, against either Honduras or Mexico.
The US must win that semifinal game to secure a berth in the Olympics next summer in Rio de Janeiro. If they lose Saturday, they can also qualify by winning CONCACAF’s third-place consolation game and a playoff against CONMEBOL representative Colombia in March.
