Top five assists of 2017 | No. 1: Joevin Jones’ outside-of-the-foot cross sets up Brad Evans diving header

With 2017 in the books, is taking a look back at the top five assists of the Seattle Sounders’ season. We’ll release the full list over the course of the week, with the No. 1 assist to be announced on Friday, Dec. 22.

No. 5: Román Torres sets up Lamar Neagle against the LA Galaxy

No. 4: Will Bruin slots it through to Víctor Rodríguez

No. 3: Joevin Jones’ nutmeg leads to Jordan Morris header

No. 2: Harry Shipp curls a perfect through ball to Will Bruin

In what was the largest comeback win in Major League Soccer history, the Seattle Sounders also had their best assist of the season. Trailing 3-1 in the 62nd minute at home to D.C. United, things seemed bleak for the Sounders. But a classy play from Joevin Jones and Brad Evans would bring Seattle that much closer to history.

Nouhou received a deflected ball at the top of the 18-yard-box, faked a shot and then played a simple ball to Jones on the left side of the box. Jones took one touch before curling in a beautiful cross with the outside of his left foot to the back post where Evans dove for the emphatic goal, which cut the deficit to one and set up the dramatic come-from-behind victory.
