The Sounders Academy U-19 team takes on Sockers FC Chicago today in the USSDA playoff quarterfinal (1:00 p.m. PT).
The young Sounders advanced to the knockout rounds by finishing atop Group G with two wins and one draw. Facing a tough PDA side in the opening match, the Rave Green twice rallied back from one-goal deficits to win the match 3-2. They then defeated pre-tournament favorites Orlando City SC 2-0 on June 19 behind a brace from Marlon Vargas. A scoreless draw with FC Golden State on the final matchday secured the Sounders' spot in the quarterfinals.
