2014 (Sacramento Republic FC / OC Blues FC): Long, on loan from Portland Timbers, played five games between USL sides Sacramento Republic FC and Orange County Blues FC before joining the Sounders FC First Team midway through the campaign. 

2012-2013 (FC Tucson): Long made 17 appearances for FC Tucson of the USL Premier Development League. He scored three goals for the team before being drafted by Portland Timbers.


Long scored 13 goals and notched five assists as a four-year starter at University of California Riverside from 2010-2013. He finished his senior season tied for the team lead in goals (3) and was named to the All-Big West Second Team. He was the leading goal-scorer for the Highlanders as a junior, scoring six goals and assisting another. Long was named to the All-Big West First Team, and won the Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Week on September 10, 2012. He scored two game-winning goals as a sophomore in 2011, one of the goals helped UC Riverside topple nationally-ranked opponents, UC Santa Barbara. Long was selected by Portland in the second round (36th overall) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft.
