In 2010, he joined the U-19 side for Germany’s TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where he made 10 appearances. The following year, Renken inked a contract with the Portland Timbers and played in 10 reserve matches. The midfielder went abroad once again in 2013, plying his trade for Sweden’s Gimo IF FK before returning stateside in 2014. He played for USL’s Arizona United in 2014 and Saint Louis FC from 2015-2016.
Renken represented the United States at the U-14, U-15, U-17 and U-20 levels from 2007-2011.
Renken joined the U.S. Soccer U-17 Academy in Bradenton, Florida at the age of 13.
Born in Kalingalinga, Zambia, Renken moved to Edwardsville, Illinois in February 2003, where he was raised by his adopted parents Pamela and Seth Renken. His birth parents live in Zambia, and he also has three brothers: Richard, Steven, and Peter.
