Bersano began his career at Oregon State, where he competed for three seasons. As a redshirt freshman in 2012, Bersano started 18 matches and recorded a 1.17 goals against average, which ranked fourth in school history. A PAC-12 All-Academic Second Team honoree, the goalkeeper recorded four shutouts and 79 saves. In his sophomore campaign, Bersano posted five shutouts in 19 matches, improving his goals per game average to 1.14. He set the school’s single-season record with 101 saves and earned PAC-12 Second Team honors. In his final season with the Beavers, Bersano started 17 matches and recorded 68 saves, allowing just 1.05 goals per game. He was named a PAC-12 Honorable mention. After the 2014 season, Bersano transferred to Penn State, where he earned his master’s degree. In his lone season as a Nittany Lion, Bersano made 42 saves in 13 matches, recording five shutouts.  


The son of Tom and Patty, Bersano has two brothers, Scott and Tony, and one sister, Amy. He has an undergraduate degree in speech communication and a master’s in international affairs. In his spare time, Bersano enjoys reading and yoga.
