2021 (Tacoma Defiance): Vargas started 10 of his 18 appearances in his fourth season with Sounders FC’s USL affiliate, scoring two goals and adding three assists.
2020 (Tacoma Defiance): Getting nine starts in 14 appearances, Vargas amassed 661 minutes for the club during the 2020 campaign.
2019 (Tacoma Defiance): Vargas scored two goals in 24 appearances, 13 of which were starts. Both goals came in wins for the club. The first came on August 10 against Orange County SC before scoring again on October 20 against Austin Bold.
2018 (Sounders FC 2): Vargas made his USL debut on May 12 against Portland Timbers 2. He started the match at attacking midfield and played 55 minutes. He went on to make nine appearances, including seven starts. At just 17 years old, the winger recorded six chances created and completed 161 passes.
Vargas was called up for two friendlies with the El Salvador National Team in November 2021 and appeared on the bench for both matches. Has been involved in several U.S. Youth National Team camps.
Vargas signed with S2 after being part of the Sounders Academy since 2016 after initially signing from partner club Central California Aztecs earlier that year. He had 19 goals and 26 in 35 appearances across all competitions in 2018 before signing with S2. The California native finished the 2017-18 USSDA season with 25 goals and 31 assists in 49 appearances for the U-17s and played a key role in the team winning the Generation Adidas Cup and DA national championship. Vargas netted five goals in 21 games for the Sounders U-15/16 team in 2017.
