2024 marks a festive milestone for Sounders FC as the Rave Green celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sounders soccer, born in 1974 as a part of the North American Soccer League. This golden anniversary season promises a thrilling lineup of matches and no shortage of special matchday themes and activities to enjoy alongside game action.

•   Home Opener: Sounders FC kicks off its anniversary celebrations in style with its 2024 home opener on Saturday, March 2 vs. Austin FC. Be there to set the homefield advantage for the season!
•  Youth Match: Enjoy a family-friendly afternoon at Lumen Field on Sunday, May 5 as Sounders FC hosts the LA Galaxy. A wide variety of special activities catered to younger fans will be available.
•  * 50th Anniversary Celebration:* Though various festivities are taking place throughout the 2024 season, Sounders FC’s match on Saturday, June 15 vs. Minnesota United FC is being centered around a grand celebration of the club’s 50th anniversary, giving everyone from fans to player alumni the opportunities to come together to honor the achievements of the club’s first 50 years.
•   Decision Day Derby: Sounders FC hosts archrival the Portland Timbers to close out the 2024 regular season on Saturday, October 19. Matches between Seattle and Portland always bring extra anticipation and intensity, but perhaps more than ever with possible Cascadia Cup and MLS Cup Playoffs implications hanging on this Decision Day clash. 2024 also sees the second year of **Leagues Cup** competition. Taking place from July 26 through August 25, Leagues Cup crowns a winner among MLS and Liga MX clubs, in addition to deciding three qualifiers for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup. Groups for the first stage of play were recently announced, with Sounders FC placed in the West 6 group alongside Minnesota United FC and Club Necaxa of Liga MX. Dates and times for Group Stage matches, as well as further scheduling details for Leagues Cup 2024, will be announced at a later date. Once match dates are announced, single-match tickets for any Sounders FC home matches will be available for purchase, and the game is included in full-season packages for Sounders FC Alliance Members.
