MATCH RECAP: Tacoma Defiance Drops 2-0 Home Result to St. Louis CITY2


TUKWILA, WASH. – Tacoma Defiance (4-3-3, 18 points) fell 2-0 to St. Louis CITY2 (3-4-5, 18 points) Monday evening at Starfire Stadium. Tacoma failed to overcome two early goals from the visitors as it suffered its first home loss of the season.

St. Louis got on the board first in the 10th minute when Cade Glover cleaned up a deflected shot and put it into the back of the net. The away side doubled its lead in the 14th minute when John Klein got on the end of a through ball and slotted the shot away for the 2-0 lead.

Despite the loss, Tacoma remains in second place in the Pacific Division with 18 points through 10 matches.

Following today’s result, Wade Webber’s side starts a stretch of three road matches in eight days, kicking off against Earthquakes II on Sunday, June 11 at PayPal Park (4:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV).
