Tacoma Defiance defeated 3-0 at Portland Timbers 2

PORTLAND, OREG. – In the first of two meetings between the two sides this week, Tacoma Defiance (2-7-1, 7 points) fell 3-0 to Portland Timbers 2 (1-10-0, 3 points) on Thursday evening at Providence Park. The hosts exploded with three goals in a span of six minutes in the first half, including a brace from Jorge Gonzalez Arseni. The two rivals meet again on Saturday, September 12 at Providence Park (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).


The home side got on the board first in the 18th minute courtesy of Gonzalez Arseni on an assist from Aedan Stanley, minutes before Giovanni Calixtro made it 2-0 via with a penalty kick. Gonzalez Arseni made it 3-0 in the 24th minute on an assist from Calixtro, giving Timbers 2 its first win of the season and Defiance its fifth consecutive loss.
