RENO, NEV. – Tacoma Defiance (2-3-1, 7 points) fell 2-1 to Reno 1868 FC (4-1-0, 12 points) on Saturday evening at Greater Nevada Field. Danny Robles scored the lone goal for Tacoma, who saw its three-match unbeaten streak (2-0-1) snapped. Defiance currently sits five points back of Reno in the standings for Group A, the four-team group created after USL’s resumption of play following the COVID-19 shutdown.

After Benjamin Kikanovic put Reno up 1-0 in the 20th minute, Robles equalized four minutes on an assist from Marlon Vargas. It marked the second goal of the season for Robles, tied for second on the team with Jesús Pérez, two behind team-leading Alec Díaz. Reno found the equalizer just eight minutes later with a penalty kick goal in the 32nd minute from Corey Herzog.
