Tacoma Defiance falls 3-2 Thursday evening to Reno 1868 FC

RENO, NEV. – Abdoulaye Cissoko and Ray Serrano scored for Tacoma Defiance (2-8-1, 7 points) in a 3-2 road loss to Reno 1868 FC (9-2-1, 28 points) on Thursday evening at Greater Nevada Field. The win clinched a playoff spot for Reno, while Tacoma dropped its sixth consecutive match. Defiance’s road stint continues on Sunday, September 20 against Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy’s Park (7:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+).


With Reno up 2-0 early in the second half, Cissoko put Defiance on the board in the 55th minute on an assist from Chris Hegardt. After the home side immediately jumped to a 3-1 lead minutes after, Serrano pulled one back in the 75th minute, but Tacoma was not able to find an equalizer before the final whistle.
