ARLINGTON, TEXAS – Tacoma Defiance (2-2-3, 11 points) played to a 1-1 draw with North Texas SC (4-1-2, 15 points) and proceeded to win the shootout 4-2, collecting two points on Sunday afternoon at Choctaw Stadium. Achille Robin scored the lone goal for Tacoma, who extended its unbeaten streak to three games (1-0-2). This marked the second shootout in as many meetings this season between the two sides, after NTSC collected two points at Starfire Stadium on April 2.
After a scoreless first half, North Texas SC got on the board first in the 49th minute courtesy of Paul Bello Amedume, then went down to 10 men after defender Isaiah Parker was issued a pair of yellow cards in the 57th and 60th minutes. Robin equalized for the visitors in the 69th minute, finishing a chance from close range after a scrum in the area. With the match still level after 90 minutes of action, Tacoma won the shootout 4-2 after converting all four of its kicks from the spot.
