Tacoma Defiance signs midfielder Reed Baker-Whiting

SEATTLE, WASH – Tacoma Defiance today announced that it has signed midfielder Reed Baker-Whiting. The Sounders FC Academy product and Seattle native gives Defiance 16 players signed to its active roster, with the club playing its next match on Monday, August 3 at Portland Timbers 2 (6:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+). The 15-year-old U.S. Youth National Team player has appeared as a substitute in both of Defiance’s matches since USL resumed play following the COVID-19 shutdown. 


In addition to the signing of Baker-Whiting, below are recent team notes from this week:


  • USL announced yesterday that Tacoma’s match this evening, July 23 has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test from within Reno’s club. Defiance's schedule has now been adjusted to add a road match at Reno on September 16, while the previously-scheduled October 3 road fixture at Reno has been moved to Cheney Stadium.
