Cristian Roldan: World Cup Bound

It's official: Cristian Roldan has been named to the United States Men's National Team 26-man roster by Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino for FIFA World Cup 2026TM.

This marks the second FIFA World Cup call-up for the Sounders FC club captain. One of the veterans of the squad, Roldan has 45 caps with the Stars & Stripes, registering five assists at the international level.

Coming off a season in which he was named to the MLS Best XI, Roldan will have the opportunity to represent the USMNT at the biggest sporting event on the planet as the United States, Mexico and Canada welcome the world.

Placed in Group D, the United States Men's National Team will compete against Paraguay, Australia and Türkiye for a spot in the Round of 32.

For Roldan, each match carries emotional ties. The Los Angeles native will return to his hometown for the first and third matches of the group stage, giving him an opportunity to compete in front of friends, family and the community that raised him. The second group stage match will be played in Seattle - the city where he's carved out his professional career and built a new life for his family.
