Job Title: HR Assistant/Receptionist                           
Department:  Human Resources
Reports To: Office Administrator

SUMMARY:

The HR Assistant/Receptionist candidate should be an astute, self-starter with exceptional communication skills who is friendly, upbeat, reliable and motivated to help cultivate a fantastic work environment and culture.  This position will be one of the first points of contact for all Sounders FC guests and fans, and will be responsible for answering questions both in person and by phone, as well as directing calls in a prompt, decisive and courteous manner.  In addition, this position will provide overall office and administrative support for day-to-day office operations, and assistance to the HR team.  This is a vital role that will work closely with all departments and levels of employees at our Pioneer Square location. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide excellent customer service as Sounders FC’s receptionist and the designated main contact for all general inquiry calls and emails
  • Efficiently and effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including upkeep of common areas and maintaining appropriate supply levels to support operational needs
  • General administrative tasks to include, filing, copying, all package / mail acceptance and distribution, plus updating seating charts and internal directories as needed
  • Create and maintain personnel files and employee HR paperwork
  • Update employee information in the company HRIS
  • Track and manage specific HR budgets, as delegated by Office Administrator
  • Regulate monthly parking passes for employees and schedule parking accommodations for guests
  • Coordinate catering and logistics for staff meetings and group lunches
  • Draft and send various all-staff correspondence
  • Manage conference rooms, and schedule various all-staff meetings
  • Book travel and accommodations for executives and guests as needed
  • Assist with special projects as assigned – including various research, special mailings, employee distributions (tickets etc.)
  • May receive and process information of confidential nature and must ensure such information is maintained in strict confidentiality
  • Assist the Payroll & Benefits Manager with additional tasks and projects as needed
  • Occasional match day duties, as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years of responsible, high level administrative work experience; HR experience a plus
  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Accurate statistical typing

Job Title: Graphic Designer                           
Department:  Marketing

SUMMARY:

The individual who fills the role of Graphic Designer will be charged with bringing the Seattle Sounders FC visual identity to life across a wide variety of channels, ensuring consistency of the club’s brand. This individual will be tasked with executing creative design for internal departments, external agency partners, and corporate partners, among others. The ideal candidate will focus on solving problems for the benefit of the club and be imaginative in thinking, collaborative in process, and innovative in approach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with planning and creation for all design initiatives, including marketing materials, advertising campaigns, digital and social, logo development, in-stadium signage, and corporate partnership assets, among others
  • Manage design projects from creative brief to finished output
  • Produce work that ensures brand consistency and efficient project lifecycles
  • Assist in the development of advertising and marketing campaigns
  • Create visual identities for both internal and corporate partner events and programs
  • Assist in reviewing and approving design assets submitted by corporate partners
  • Manage internal and external use of logos to ensure brand integrity
  • Assist Senior Graphic Designer in providing art direction for photographers, agencies, and vendors
  • Prepare images for print through color correction and photo retouching

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferably in graphic design
  • Minimum four (4) years relevant work experience, preferably in sports marketing

  • Portfolio must demonstrate a good eye for composition, creativity, color and legibility

SUMMARY:

Seattle Sounders FC is seeking a self-starter who enjoys variety in his or her work, can manage multiple priorities, is able to lead and influence at all levels of the organization and has an insatiable hunger for social media, digital content and soccer. The Digital Media Manager will manage Seattle Sounders FC social media initiatives through planning, implementation and measurement phases. This individual will develop and execute the team’s overall social media strategy and work closely with various departments to support team branding, product sales, strategic messaging and community relations. The Digital Media Manager must possess an advanced working knowledge of social media platforms, metrics, and measurement tools.

In addition, the Digital Media Manager will also be responsible for owning elements of website management, editorial content creation and launching integrated marketing campaigns across all digital channels.

  • Assist in copy editing submissions from contributing staff and freelance writers, including Matchdays and S2 Matchdays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university preferably in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or Communications.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Digital Media including responsibilities encompassing:
    • 3+ years’ experience in social media.
    • 2+ years’ experience managing, designing or developing content for high trafficked web property.
    • 2+ years of relevant writing or reporting experience, ideally in major college or professional sports, preferably soccer.
  • Passion and deep knowledge about the social media landscape - demonstrated thought leadership in the space a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Creative Suite [Photoshop] and proven experience with a CMS and HTML 5 required.

SUMMARY

The ideal candidate is passionate about sales and motivated to exceed all ticket sales goals.  We are looking for team members who strive to be the best and are committed to the long term growth of the ticket base of Sounders FC.  As a New Membership Associate you will be considered a full-time temporary employee with the ability to work up to 40 hours per week.

Seattle Sounders FC Sales Academy

New Membership Associates will be evaluated on a regular basis throughout the year, and only those Reps who continue to exceed performance expectations will be permitted to stay in the program. New Membership Associates will sell our full menu of ticket offerings including season tickets, group tickets and partial plans. New Membership Associates will be expected to make a minimum of 100 cold calls daily to businesses, individuals and past ticket buyers.

Sounders FC Youth Camp coaches will provide coaching instruction to kids ages 3 – 18 who have registered to participate in Sounders FC Summer Camps.

Coaches will be required to follow and teach the specific curriculum as it pertains to each individual topic of the day. Coaches will be responsible for being educated on the Sounders FC Summer Camp coaching curriculum and have an ability to teach the curriculum to children in every age group.  Coaching education will be provided at mandatory and paid orientation days.

Youth Camp coaches are also responsible for the safety of the children at soccer camp. Each camp coach will be provided with a Sounders FC Coaching Handbook and is required to be up to date and familiar with all rules, regulations, and policies regarding child safety.

Coaches are to assist the site director of each camp location in the day to day operations of each camp site, that includes and is not limited to, setting up camp drills, sorting equipment, checking kids into camp, distributing awards, and handing out supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching the Curriculum

  • Study and learn Sounders FC 2017 Summer Camp Curriculum
  • Effectively carry out the lesson plans and teach the kids accordingly based on their age level

Safety

  • Manage the kids at camp to keep them safe
  • Keep an eye out for any dangerous opportunities at camp site
  • Keep the children under control and behaving in a manner to avoid injury

Operations

  • Assist site director in setting up camp and closing camp each day
  • Help sign children in and out of soccer camp
  • Organize equipment each day
  • Hand out prizes and awards
  • Keep kids under control while site director is addressing the group

Customer Relationships

  • Be cordial and respectful when dealing with parents at camp
  • Direct any and all complaints to the site director in a calm and respectful manner

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Premier level soccer playing experience required
  • College playing experience preferred but not required
  • Experience in childcare preferred but not required
  • Minimum “E” Coaching License or equivalent preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively and clearly with children
  • Must be very punctual
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the soccer so they can effectively teach it to beginners

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to effectively demonstrate soccer specific technical abilities
  • Will be required to set up promotional material at youth camp locations
  • Must be able to move and transport soccer various types of soccer equipment
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certificates

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • 95% of the work will be done in an outdoor environment
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 18 hours a week
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 6 weeks between June 16 and September 1
  • Must be able to provide your own transportation to local camp locations

JOB TITLE: Youth Camp Site Technical Director
DEPARTMENT: Soccer Programs
REPORTS TO: Director of Soccer Programs

SUMMARY:

Sounders FC Youth Camp Site Technical Director coaches will provide technical instruction and guidance to the camp coaches at the individual camp site they are supervising.

The Technical Director will ensure the staff coaches are following the camp curriculum and methodology as it pertains to each specific age group.  The Technical Director will provide on field coaching education to the camp staff coaches and assist with exercise implementation. 

The Technical Director will be responsible for announcing and explaining the technical and tactical topic each day at camp to the camp participants.  The Technical Director will also provide operational support at the camp regarding check-in and out procedures, daily giveaways, camp setup, item distribution, customer service to parents, and provide an additional line of safety for the camp.

The Technical Director will be asked at times to provide coaching for various age groups and programs throughout the summer time.  Technical Directors will provide feedback to the camp directors regarding coaching performances, camp operations, and player talent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implementation of Sounders FC Curriculum and Methodology

  • Supervises camp site coaches and implements Sounders FC curriculum, methodology and system organization
  • Coaching players in the u6 to u18 age range in accordance with Sounders curriculum and methodology
  • Display a complete support of curriculum, methodology, and system organization at all times
  •  Ability to effectively carry out the curriculum and explain it to coaches

Operations

  • Assist camp site manager with daily operations of camp
  • Help sign children in and out of soccer camp
  • Organize equipment each day
  • Hand out prizes and awards
  • Address the group on daily topic and activities

Customer Relationships

  • Be cordial and respectful when dealing with parents, fellow coaches and camp participants
  • Be a knowledgeable and positive ambassador for the Sounders
  • First line of customer service for questions about camp operations, specifically technical aspects 
  • Escalate any issues to camp directors

Safety

  • Survey camp sites daily for potential hazards.  Escalate issues to Camp Directors.
  • Implement all camp safety procedures and protocols and ensure that all camp site coaches follow safety procedures and protocols. 
  • Keep the children under control and behaving in a manner to avoid injury

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Premier level soccer playing experience required
  • Professional playing experience preferred but not required
  • Premier level coaching experience for a minimum of 3 years
  • Youth Soccer Director role experience preferred but not required
  • Experience in childcare preferred but not required
  • USSF “C” license required.  USSF “B” license or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • WA driver license required (by first day of employment)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively and clearly with coaching staff
  • Must be extremely punctual and organized
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the game of soccer
  • Must be able to effectively carry out the Sounders FC curriculum and explain it to coaches
  • Demonstrated ability to teach techniques, tactics, physical and psychological components of soccer
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and educate youth players and youth coaching staff.
  • Must be able to effectively carry out training sessions
  • Must be able to move and transport various types of soccer equipment and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Job Title: Part Time Box Office Assistant

SUMMARY

Seattle Sounders FC is looking for a Part-Time Box Office Assistant to handle day-of-game Ticket Operations setup, service, and sales for the 2017 Sounders FC and S2 season. The part-time box office assistant is an excellent learning opportunity within the sports industry that will be an integral part of all Sounders FC and S2 home matches. Sounders FC matches are played at CenturyLink Field and their USL affiliate, S2, plays their matches at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, WA. This individual will be responsible for assisting in setting up the box office for both teams on matchday, troubleshooting any ticket issues and selling tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Ticket Operations Manager with Box Office and Will Call setup and teardown on matchdays
  • Be an energetic Sounders FC ambassador, knowledgeable of ticket prices, game schedules, ticket package offerings, ticket policies and procedures
  • Provide all guests a positive first impression of Sounders FC by offering superior, individualized guest service
  • Accurately operate Ticketmaster Archtics and Host and mobile ticketing systems
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot any ticket issues that may arise including lost, stolen or damaged tickets
  • Process walk up ticket sales and will call requests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Answer box office telephone and respond to customer questions regarding events, ticket operations, and assist patrons in finding seat locations on seating diagrams
  • Communicate positively with guests to establish their needs efficiently and courteously

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 or more years of Ticket Operations experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, Seattle Sounders FC and soccer
  • Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  •  Proficient in Ticketmaster Host, Archtics, and Access Manager ticketing platforms
  • Must be professional and exhibit excellent judgment
  • Must be available to work all Sounders FC and S2 home match days (requires nights and weekends)
  • Must have strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in cash handling: Capable of balancing all cash and check transactions to submit to Ticket Operations Manager at the conclusion of each match.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle large crowds in a friendly, professional manner
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving
  • Candidates must be local to the Seattle area and have a reliable form of transportation
