Following the Sounders FC's 1-1 draw on the road against the Portland Timbers on Saturday, midfielder Albert Rusnák was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday Bench for Matchday 14.
This is Rusnák's fourth time being selected for the league’s weekly honors this season.
Playing at Providence Park in their first Cascadia derby of the season, the Sounders took the lead in the 30th minute through a wonderful strike from outside the box by Rusnák. After shifting the ball to his right foot, the attacking midfielder uncorked a shot from distance that flew through a Timbers defender's legs before settling in the bottom left corner.
In addition to his decisive goal, Rusnák pulled the strings in the final third for Seattle as completed 91 percent of his 54 pass attempts while setting up quality chances for Cristian Roldan and Georgi Minoungou in the second half.
Rusnák now has 6 goals and 3 assists from 14 appearances in league play this season.
Following a three-game roadtrip, the Sounders return to action at Lumen Field on Saturday when they host FC Dallas (12 p.m. PT; Watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV | TICKETS). Fans can also purchase tickets through the First Responders Night offer HERE.
