PREVIOUS MEETING: Austin FC defeated the Sounders 2-1 in Texas on Sept. 21, 2025. Diego Rubio and Georgi Minoungou traded goals in the 42nd and 46th minutes before Myrto Uzuni won the match for Austin in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
MOVING ON: The Sounders will look to put their return to MLS play behind them after a 5-1 loss to the Portland Timbers last week. This will be Austin’s first match since the pause for the FIFA World Cup.
DOTSON BAGS FIRST: Federal Way, Wash., native Hassani Dotson scored his first Sounders goal last week since being acquired this past offseason. The 28-year-old midfielder spent the first seven years of his career with Minnesota United.
FRESH START: Austin will look to reset following the World Cup break after losing its final three matches before the tournament started. Austin was outscored 10-1 in those three contests.

COACHING CHANGE LOOMING: Austin announced last month that veteran MLS manager Jim Curtin will take the helm following the conclusion of the 2026 season. Curtin is a two-time Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year in 2020 and ’22 while with the Philadelphia Union. Interim Head Coach Davy Arnaud will remain in charge for the rest of this year.
STUVER SAVING THE DAY: Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver continues to be one of the best goalkeepers in Major League Soccer. The 35-year-old has the third-highest Goals-Expected Goals (-5.35) mark in the league and is the main reason why an Austin team with the second-most goals allowed in the Western Conference hasn’t allowed more.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Facundo Torres, F
It’s been a rough return to MLS for Torres, who has just one goal and six assists in 15 matches since signing as a Designated Player with Austin from Palmeiras. The Uruguay international spent one year with the Brazilian giants after recording 37 goals and 19 assists in three seasons with Orlando City SC. Despite the early-season lack of production, Torres is still one of the league’s most dangerous wingers on his day and can turn a match on its head.
