Australia national team Head Coach Graham Arnold has called in Seattle Sounders defender Brad Smith for a friendly against South Korea on Friday, June 7, in Busan, South Korea (4 a.m. PT).

Smith has 19 caps for the Socceroos with his last appearance coming on Aug. 31, 2017, in a 2-0 loss to Japan in 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.

“This international window also gives me the chance to spend an extended time with some of our more experienced players who have recently been missing from international football, but have been playing well for their respective clubs like Matthew Spiranovic, Rhys Williams, Adam Taggart, Bailey Wright, Josh Brillante and Brad Smith,” Arnold said.

Smith has had an MLS All-Star caliber season so far for Seattle, helping solidify himself as one of the league’s best fullbacks. The AFC Bournemouth loanee has four assists in 13 appearances in 2019.
