2025 marked the best season in Danny Musovski’s career, as the Sounders forward finished the campaign with 18 goals and five assists across all competitions.
He won the team’s Golden Boot award. He was honored in multiple MLS Team of the Matchdays throughout the duration of the season.
It looked like clockwork for Musovski, who was scoring at a consistent rate. But with that success came hard work and overcoming adversity along the way.
Upon joining the Sounders in 2024, Musovski dealt with an early preseason injury that delayed his acclimation period with the team. A prolonged adjustment timeline in addition to a deep attacking group of Jordan Morris and Raúl Ruidíaz left Musovski unable to play a significant role on the team and therefore prevented him from showcasing his attacking prowess during his first year with the club.
“It's never easy getting to a new team, and you're trying to learn the new dynamics and new style of play, new, you know, formation,” said Assistant Coach Freddy Juarez. “He wasn't able to get that early on.”
Fast forward to 2025, Musovski was on a mission to prove his worth on the pitch.

“[2024] was kind of his transitional year, trying to get healthy and fit and all that. And then you saw later, once he did that, coming into 2025 he just knew the routine, knew the training habits that you do to develop, to be consistent. And you saw what he did in 2025,” said Juarez.
With lingering injuries keeping Morris sidelined, Musovski stepped in as the Rave Green’s center forward. From the outside, it may have seemed daunting for the second-year Sounder to fill the shoes of the club’s all-time leading goal scorer. But he didn’t hesitate to seize the opportunity.
Over a stretch of five consecutive games in April and May, the forward scored five goals. That finishing touch earned him a consistent spot in the starting lineup, and from there, he knew it was going to be a “really special year.”
“Goals [equal] confidence,” said Musovski. “If you're a forward, and even though you're playing well, but maybe you don't get the goal, it just doesn't feel as good. But you know, if you get goals, you keep stacking it, the confidence just grows, and it almost compounds.”
Along with his acclimation to the team and confident demeanor, the 30-year-old credits his dedication to taking care of his body as a key factor in reaching new heights last season.

“As a forward, you almost need that little bit of extra, I don't know, mobility, or just endurance in the box, to just persistently keep making the runs. And I feel like that was the difference between 2025 and 2024, is just how persistent I was able to be to make the runs, to be there every single time, even though, maybe it's a 1 in 10 chance that the ball will get there, but to just keep going, keep going, keep going, and eventually, believe that you're going to get your goal,” said Musovski.
The hope is for him to carry that determination into the 2026 season while continuing to elevate his game and embracing a bigger role on the Rave Green.
With his scrappy playing style, Juarez is confident he can do just that.
“He doesn't mind getting dirty. He'll chase down the center back. He'll put his face in front of someone's foot as they're trying to clear [the ball],” said Juarez. “That tenacity is how we see him at his best.”
