RENTON, WASH. – On Sunday, June 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT, Sounders FC and Reign FC staff members will be joined by Emerald City Supporters (ECS) and Royal Guard, as well as Sounders FC’s official band Sound Wave and Reign City Riot – the band that performs at each Reign FC match – to participate in this year’s Seattle Pride Parade, a community-led event focused on LGBTQIA2S+ visibility that aligns with the clubs’ impact commitment to advance equity in play and life.
This year’s parade route runs through Downtown Seattle along Fourth Avenue between Pike Street and Denny Way, with the step off taking place at Westlake Park. The event is a free, fun, community-wide celebration advancing awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and promoting mutual respect and equal human rights for all.
The clubs officially kicked off Pride Month on Tuesday, June 3 by raising a giant Progress Pride flag over Lumen Field that will fly for Sounders FC’s Pride Match against Austin FC on Saturday, June 28 and Reign FC’s Pride Match vs. Angel City FC on Friday, August 1. The event featured Sounders FC players Andrew Thomas and Pedro de la Vega, Reign FC players Cassie Miller and Phoebe McClernon, Starbucks partners, Emerald City Supporters (ECS) and Royal Guard member Mindi Rice, as well as Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center representative Eddy Chavez.
