Colorado Rapids
Sunday, Feb. 22
6 p.m. PT | FS1, Apple TV
Following a pre-season full of preparations, the Sounders will face the Rapids in their Home Opener at Lumen Field. The Rave Green have a history of dominating the Colorado side, holding a 26-8-7 all-time record against them. The Sounders dominance is especially noticeable at home; the Rapids have only come away with two draws and have yet to produce a win at Lumen Field.
And with the Sounders coming off a record-scoring, trophy winning year, this head-to-head battle is one that the team can use to start the season off strong.
Portland Timbers
Thursday, July 16

The Sounders return from a seven-week break following FIFA World Cup 26 competition to face one of their biggest opponents year after year: The Portland Timbers. A rivalry dating back to 1975, the energy displayed on the pitch and in the stands is always unmatched.
There are countless iconic moments from this derby, including Roger Levesque’s 2009 chopping celebration — and 2026 will provide the same intensity to produce a similar experience for the fans and players.
There's always fireworks on the pitch whenever the Sounders and Timbers go head-to-head. A rivalry unlike any other in North American soccer, these are always marquee fixtures and unforgettable matchday experiences.

On that same note, the Sounders also competed against the top clubs in the region in prusuit of silverware, securing their first-ever Leagues Cup title.
In addition to it being a rivalry match, the battle between the two sides will be as thrilling as ever, with the amount of talent and success they have both accumulated over the last year. From watching German icon Thomas Mueller lead the Whitecaps, to USMNT comeback player Cristian Roldan guiding the midfield on the Sounders side, the quality of play in this matchup will be undeniable.
Minnesota United
Saturday, September 26

The Loons made their presence known in 2025, making it to the Western Conference Semifinals and taking down the Sounders in the Round One, Best-of-3 series. While Minnesota came out on top over the Rave Green, the Pacific Northwest side has been lethal when it comes to competing against them at Lumen Field. The Sounders are 10-1-0 against the Loons at home, including a 4-2 win in Game Two of the playoffs, and are no doubt going to try and maintain that strong string of wins in September when they meet again in Seattle.

LAFC

Decision Day is one of the most important matches of the season with playoff hopes and seeding on the line. The fact that the Sounders are set to square off with LAFC will make it even more significant for the Rave Green.
Since LAFC’s inaugural season in 2018, it's been a brawl between the Western Conference teams. While LAFC has the upper hand in head-to-head record, the Sounders have come away with exciting wins over the Black & Gold, including their 5-2 result at Lumen Field last season and their 2-1 victory that pushed them to the 2024 Western Conference Final.
Next year’s Decision Day match also marks former Tottenham legend Son Heung-min’s first time playing at Lumen Field. LAFC acquired the midfielder in August of 2025. A must-see matchup in more ways than one, fans won't to miss one of the highest profile games of the year.
