Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris continues to make a lasting impact on his hometown, both on and off the field.
As an advocate for the diabetic community, Morris was recently named to Forbes 30 Under 30 local Seattle issue.
Having grown up with Type 1 diabetes himself, Morris has gone above and beyond in supporting those whoāve also been dealt with the health condition. Heās dedicated his philanthropy efforts toward educating, inspiring, and supporting children with Type 1 Diabetes.
Through his own foundation, Morris organizes events such as soccer camps to fundraise for the cause. He also gifts his game jerseys post-match in one of the foundationās activations titled T1 Playmakers, where youth with Type 1 diabetes get the opportunity to meet the Seattle forward throughout the regular season.
The donations collected through the Jordan Morris Foundation are then utilized at Seattle Childrenās Hospital, aiding T1D patients and their families. The foundation specifically hones in on being a resource in relation to psycho-social assistance for those who would otherwise not be funded. Additionally, Morris provides āJMO bagsā to children at the hospital, the Childrenās Outpatient Clinic and those around the country who were recently diagnosed with the auto-immune disease.
